I think my devil might have to murder the satanist in the haunted bookshop out of sheer boredom. Just as an aside. And only in fiction, y'unnerstand. ;-)
The devil's lists:
demonology for busy people
buttered side down: making murphy's law work for you

damnit, I want to start now!

eve's blogged book thingy. copyright Eve Penford 2001
cast of characters:
neville - a WASP australian country man in his 50s
neville's wife, bea - a well meaning naive woman, potters in the garden, member of the CWA
nelly - new neighbour to bea and neville, befriends bea, from haiti - into voodoo (but uses it for good.) Neville doesn't like/understand her.
Crispin - the devil. befriends/plagues neville. A mischief maker and trouble causer rather than being truly evil
terry - nev's fuckwit son
norelle - nev's daughter

the idea being that neville judges on appearances befriends the devil - sees him as the son he always wanted. (kind of)
bea yearns for something exotic - nelly provides this, and, recognising Crispin in his true form, protects bea.
nelly - wiser than all with the exeption of ??? being immortal... some of the funniest moments should be her conversations with Crispin
Crispin - will cause havoc without being seen to do so - in parts witty and seductive, only once or twice is truly "evil"
I think god might have to be in this too - conversations between god and Crispin (a vengeful, just as childish god?)

catalysts:
firstly, all moving into the same area/street (although neville has to be there first and kind of thinks he's king of the castle)
bea befriends nelly
nev befriends chrispin
hurricane/disaster
crispins talks with nelly
a CWA trip to the big city

other stuff in the mix:
country womens association recipies
voodoo charms
how to really piss people off (lists by crispin)
